As part of the regulations and recommendations made by state and national health officials, it has become more and more clear how important it is for everyone to stay home, and limit interactions with others by remaining 6-feet apart from each other. COVID-19 has brought on an array of lifestyle changes for each and every one of us, and for many of us, it has changed the way in which we are able to train and workout. Though many races and other endurance events are canceled or postponed, something that has not been canceled, is our ability to workout and stay fit, especially from the safety of each of our own homes.
In order to offer the Balega community creative and unique workout options, our team of Impi ambassadors came up with the idea of leading virtual workouts for the larger Balega online community. Our resilient team of 150 ambassadors is made up of fitness enthusiasts, trainers and coaches. Due to the inability to get together in-person for workouts, our creative Impis decided to take their expertise online - streaming live on the television, phone and computer screens of their fellow Balega fans and offering different workouts to help one another stay active, motivated and inspired.
In late March, we kicked off the virtual workouts with back-to-back workout classes all week long. Moving forward, each of these 30-minute workouts will “go live” every Thursday night for the foreseeable future, led by different Impi ambassadors. Classes range from yoga classes with mediation, high intensity interval workouts and other strength and conditioning classes. Tune into the Balega Facebook page every Thursday night (times vary) to get your sweat on!
If you missed the first few classes, see below for a brief description of the workout classes to-date, and a link to take these classes on your own time - and as often as you want!
Kicking off the workout series was Charlotte, North Carolina-based Impi ambassador Lindsay, who led a Yoga for Runner’s class. The 30-minute flow was specifically designed with poses for runners, targeting hips and hamstrings. Lindsay’s favorite Balega socks are the Hidden Comfort, thanks to their supremely comfortable cushion and performance. View and follow along with Lindsay’s class here!
Next up was Colorado Springs-based Impi ambassador Lauren who led a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class, designed to bring your heart rate up! No equipment is needed for this workout. Lauren's favorite pair of Balega socks are the new UltraGlide, which are engineered with moisture management fibers and a friction-free yarn, to keep your feet cool and dry. View and follow along with Lauren’s class here.
Finally, New York-based ambassador Rachel led a 30-minute Yoga Flow + Meditation class. The first 25 minutes of the class takes you through a guided flow, followed by a 5-minute guided meditation. Rachel's favorite Balega Socks are the Blister Resist because they keep feet cool and dry with an ideal combination of mohair and signature Drynamix® moisture wicking fibers, so your feet stay blister-free!
